A few simple preparations are needed for the day of your exam. These are just some of the tips to have the best experience and focusing on your testing success.

Select an appropriate location

A great part of the success while taking an online remote exam is to properly prepare the location of your choice.

Privacy is an important factor, so keep it in mind while you’re in the process of preparing your location.

  • Keep your desk or table top are completely free of food, drinks, secondary monitors, printers, phones, etc.

  • Areas beneath desk or table top are clear.

  • A comfortable chair.

  • The walls immediately behind and in front of where the Test Taker will be seated are clear (no paintings, photos, or decorations).

  • Make sure on your desk to only have items that have been clearly and explicitly allowed in the exam instructions.

  • Select an indoor, private, and quiet room on which interruption is extremely likely to not occur.

  • Adequate lighting and the room temperature are comfortable for the candidate.

  • Telephones, non-required electronics, and any security or recording devices in the room are turned off.

  • Other household members have been informed of the examination date and time and will remain quiet during the examination and not enter the examination room

  • A sign should be placed on the door of the examination room to remind everyone when the examination is in progress.

Get familiar with the Exam Instructions in Advance

  • Ensure you read the rules and regulations and get familiar with the exam format.

  • Verify the date and time of your exam.

  • Confirm the time allotted for the exam. Know how early and late you may arrive.

  • Communicate any concerns prior to your exam to your proctor or institutional help desk.
